The Untitled Interview #70 – SXSW Edition: Starring The Shining Twins

The days are getting longer, the nights are getting shorter and sweeter, and that, my little vixens, can only mean one thing: it's getting close to being almost time for the one and only SXSW. And of course, that means I had to ask some questions of the bands I'd sure want to see if I was heading down to Austin for the 25th annual SXSW-stravaganza.

The Shining twins are one of the many reasons I refuse to watch The Shining all the way through. The Shining Twins, thankfully, is neither actual twins nor creepy in the slightest. This NYC trio makes stripped-down, raw grrlie rock, badass but kinda cute. Read on to see what Aleix, Marisa, and token dude Xanax have planned for Austin this year.

Les Enfants Terribles: How are you getting to SXSW: plane, train, or automobile?
The Shining Twins: Two motorcycles and one side car.

LET: Inevitably, you will forget to pack:
TST: Toiletries.

LET: How many showcases/parties will you be playing?
TST: At least 19.

LET: Band you're most looking forward to seeing at the festival?
TST: The Strokes. Duh.

LET: What's the first thing you plan on doing upon arrival in Austin?
TST: Finding weed.

LET: What was the first festival you ever attended, either as a musician or member of the general public?
TST: Woodstock '94. We all met there, actually! SO weird, right?

LET: Favorite thing about festivals?
TST: Street Scene has this really nice Oxygen bar. Hopefully SXSW will have one too!
