The Untitled Interview #65 – SXSW Edition: Starring Heavy Cream

The days are getting longer, the nights are getting shorter and sweeter, and that, my little vixens, can only mean one thing: it's getting close to being almost time for the one and only SXSW. And of course, that means I had to ask some questions of the bands I'd sure want to see if I was heading down to Austin for the 25th annual SXSW-stravaganza.

A few months back I saw a little band called Heavy Cream when they brought their sonic Tennessee tornado through DC, y'all, and was totally ripped to shreds by how good they were. They've got all the brash sass of vintage Runaways and the bratty snarl of The Black Lips (probably minus the super crass teenage boy vibe, though). In other words, they're not to be missed. Do you hear me, O SXSW attendees? Do not miss this band. Here's what the scamps of Heavy Cream had to say about the industry shindig:

Les Enfants Terribles: How are you getting to SXSW: plane, train, or automobile?
Heavy Cream: We are taking a big blue van.

LET: Inevitably, you will forget to pack:
HC: Daniel will forget his bass. Everyone else will be ready to go.

LET: How many showcases/parties will you be playing?
HC: We don't know yet. For sure the Panache Showcase and the Volcom Showcase. Take us to your party!!!

LET: Band you're most looking forward to seeing at the festival?
HC: Really stoked to see Thee Oh Sees.

LET: What's the first thing you plan on doing upon arrival in Austin?
HC: Finding a parking spot. That's gunna suck. Then we will head to HEAVY METAL PIZZA.

LET: What was the first festival you ever attended, either as a musician ormember of the general public?
HC: Skull Bone, Lynyrd Skynyrd headlined.

LET: Favorite thing about festivals?
HC: Kandy Kids
