The Untitled Interview #66 – SXSW Edition: Starring Chris Gregory (Golden Bear)

The days are getting longer, the nights are getting shorter and sweeter, and that, my little vixens, can only mean one thing: it's getting close to being almost time for the one and only SXSW. And of course, that means I had to ask some questions of the bands I'd sure want to see if I was heading down to Austin for the 25th annual SXSW-stravaganza.

Austin, O Austin. You are a city teeming with fucking good bands.
Golden Bear is yet another bitchin band out of the ATX. They bring a whole lotta rock, along with some crisp poppiness, for a sound that is pretty dang hard to ignore. Y'all know what I'm about to say. Don't miss this band. Before checking 'em out down at SXSW, check below to see what Chris Gregory had to say about the SXSW as done by Austinian bands.

Les Enfants Terribles: How are you getting to SXSW: plane, train, or automobile?
Chris Gregory: Automobile.

LET: Inevitably, you will forget to pack:
CG: Swords.

LET: How many showcases/parties will you be playing?
CG: Two that we know of. Maybe more to come.

LET: Band you're most looking forward to seeing at the festival?
CG: Leatherbag.

LET: What's the first thing you plan on doing upon arrival in Austin?
CG: Hit up all the 6th Street hotspots.

LET: What was the first festival you ever attended, either as a musician or member of the general public?
CG: Probably SXSW 1999 to see Guided by Voices, the Gourds, Spoon, and Damnations TX at Waterloo Park. It was radical. I had never heard of Guided by Voices and they rocked me.

LET: Favorite thing about festivals?
CG: Free things, getting to be a rock’n’roller for a week, bros.
